Artist's Statement: Montana's inspiration to create is her Mom. 'My mom’s name was Carrie. She was an insanely creative, independent, fierce woman. She was a brilliant potter, picking up the wheel in her mid-fifties while taking an art class at the local community college. Her pieces were one of a kind. Even though she attended art class as a student, many of her fellow students would ask her for guidance. She always sparked creativity in me. Throughout my entire life, we were always creating-whether it was making blankets from random scraps, painting murals for the living room, or simply doodling together and just hanging out. She passed away in 2018 from metastatic breast cancer. It’s through With Care Creations (‘Care’ being my dad’s nickname for her) that I keep her close and create in her honor.’
